Coconut Rough Balls

These balls are totally nut free and delicious! Plus you only need 4 ingredients… Well, 5 if you count the water.

Makes around 15 balls


1 cup pitted dates
½ cup cacao powder
1 cup shredded coconut
1 tsp vanilla essence
3 tbsp water

Extra coconut for rolling the balls in


Place all ingredients in a food processor until it forms a smooth, well combined dough. You should be able to grab a bit of the mixture with your hand and roll it so it sticks together well, if not add a tiny bit more water.

Take tablespoon size parts of the mixture and roll it into balls, then roll the balls around in the desiccated coconut.
Store in the fridge for about 3 hours so they can firm up, then they will be ready to eat!
